Kelly started her career in Recruitment and Employee Relations Management for a large Entertainment Company in St. Louis, MO. Her next career opportunity moved to the mainstream of information technology in the late 1990’s. As a Technical Recruiter and Business Development Manager, Kelly interviewed all levels of IT professionals for Fortune 500 companies and Federal Government Agencies. Kelly won 5 GSA contracts over a nine month period at Scott Air Force Base. During her tenure at NetEffects Incorporated, she attended a DISC seminar, behavioral style tool of effective communication, and President’s Club Sales Development Program at Stark and Associates which started Kelly on the path of introspection and self-exploration about her own life purpose.

Kelly’s turning point

Kelly’s burning passion to seek “Purpose in Life” was overwhelming. At the age of 35, Kelly was pushed by the hands of God through an amazing friend toward reading The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren. After reading only half of the book, Kelly discovered her purpose to follow her dream as a Professional Counselor and Relationship Coach! She was accepted at Lindenwood University in the MA of Professional Counseling program and the university created a full-time Graduate Assistant position during her tenure. Kelly held several roles, an Admissions Counselor to graduate and undergraduate students and Program Coordinator for the Professional and School Counseling Department. Kelly completed her MA of Professional Counseling in December 2006 and passed her Missouri State Board exam and is today a Licensed Professional Counselor. Kelly is fulfilling her purpose and focusing on Professional Counseling and Relationship Coaching with a private practice in St. Louis, MO.

Reaching New Heights

Since God helped Kelly discover her purpose, many desires and goals have been accomplished which seemed unattainable. Kelly is a regular guest on KTVI FOX Channel 2 News in the morning and STLMoms.com for segments on Date Rape on College Campuses, Sex Addiction, Relationship Do’s and Don’ts, Affairs in Marriages, Postpartum Depression, and Suicide. Kelly is also a speaker and educator regarding Post Abortion Grief, Date Rape, Suicide, Substance Abuse, and Boundaries in Dating for hundreds of teenagers and adults. On a personal note, she completed her third 26.2 mile marathon in Chicago, IL on October 7, 2007 and finished in 5 hours and 2 minutes in 91 degree heat with 85% humidity.

Continual education and self-growth awareness is a key motivator for Kelly. She is currently enrolled in a two-year training program for “Gestalt Therapy” taught by Edwin Harris, PhD, of the Gestalt Institute of California.

In her own words: Kelly’s Philosophy of Counseling and Coaching

My personal motivators include Connection, Choice, Challenges, and Change.

The positive Connection I have with my clients is an essential element to interpersonal understanding. Connection leads to security which, in turn, fosters hope and fuels openness to change.

Choices are unavoidable! Good, bad, indifferent, or however you define a decision, choices transform our lives! Choice consists of a mental process of thinking involved with the process of judging multiple options and selecting one for action. The goal is to motivate you to make the best possible choices for your life.

Challenges + problem solving = opportunities. I challenge my clients by creating stimulating scenarios or situations that demand resolution. Facing and dealing with challenges begins change!

Change is inevitable in the coaching relationship. Client’s can metamorphosis and become the true essence of their being! So, are you ready to begin the changing process?
