Kelly’s path to purpose

With 15 plus years experience in Human Development and Behavior, Kelly is an accomplished and proven professional focusing on Spiritual and Emotional Growth, Relationship Building, Training, Educating, Counseling and Coaching, and Change Management. Kelly started her career in Recruitment and Employee Relations Management for a large Entertainment Company in St. Louis, MO. Her next career opportunity moved to the mainstream of information technology in the late 1990’s. As a Technical Recruiter and Business Development Manager, Kelly interviewed all levels of IT professionals for Fortune 500 companies and Federal Government Agencies. During her tenure at NetEffects Incorporated, she attended a DISC seminar, behavioral style tool of effective communication, and President’s Club Sales Development Program at Stark and Associates which started Kelly on the path of introspection and self-exploration about her own life purpose.

Kelly’s turning point

Kelly’s burning passion to seek “Purpose in Life” was overwhelming. At the age of 35, Kelly was pushed by the hands of God through an amazing friend toward reading The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren. After reading only half of the book, Kelly discovered her purpose to follow her dream as a Professional Counselor and Relationship Coach!

She was accepted at Lindenwood University in the MA of Professional Counseling program and the university created a full-time Graduate Assistant position during her tenure. Kelly held several roles, an Admissions Counselor to graduate and undergraduate students and Program Coordinator for the Professional and School Counseling Department. Kelly completed her MA of Professional Counseling in December 2006 and passed her Missouri State Board exam and is today a Licensed Professional Counselor and National Board Certified Counselor.

Kelly is fulfilling a purpose and focusing on Professional Counseling and Relationship Coaching with a private practice in St. Louis, MO.

Reaching New Heights

Since God helped Kelly discover her purpose, many desires and goals have been accomplished which seemed unattainable. Kelly is a regular guest on KTVI FOX 2 News in the morning and STLMoms.com for segments on Date Rape on College Campuses, Sex Addiction, Relationship Do’s and Don’ts, Affairs in Marriages, Postpartum Depression, and Suicide. Kelly is also a speaker and educator regarding Post Abortion Grief, Date Rape, Suicide, Substance Abuse, and Boundaries in Dating for hundreds of teenagers and adults.

Kelly also took her third mission trip to Managua, Nicaragua (July 2011) through Fundacion El Samaritano and has worked with the staff of House of Hope on “vicarious trauma training” working with women and young girls who are coming out of prostitution or sex slavery, visited an orphanage in Jinotepe, Nicaragua, Arms of Love, and spent time with the children and team of employees, and visited the public hospitals to support the women with toiletries and other items they would have never received. She is truly called to serve the wonderful people of that country.

Continual education and self-growth awareness is a key motivator for Kelly. She successfully completed a two-year training program for “Gestalt Therapy” taught by Edwin Harris, PhD, of the Gestalt Institute of California in June 2011 with a Certificate of Achievement.
